History

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office Explorer program was founded in 2022 in partnership with the Flathead County Sheriff's Posse and Scouting's Learning for Life program. 

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office Explorer post was assigned post number 2907 by Scouting. The initial advisors founding the program in 2022 included Michael Hingiss, Charles Pesola and Marquis Laude. 

The Explorer post started with an initial six members, we now have a capacity of 2 members and aspire to continue to grow as a program.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office is the only Explorer program in the State of Montana and joins hundreds of other agency's around the country hosting explorer programs. 

Today the Sheriff's Explorer post has doubled its numbers and is run by a diverse team of advisors. 

We continue to run this program in partnership with the Flathead County Sheriff's Posse with members of our program proudly supporting the Posse.
