Community service is a cornerstone of the Flathead County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Explorer Program. By volunteering at public events throughout Flathead County, Explorers gain valuable experience while giving back to the communities they serve.

Explorers work alongside fully sworn deputies and law enforcement officers in an observe-and-report capacity. While they do not perform law enforcement duties, they assist by observing and reporting incidents, providing general information and assistance to the public, and helping ensure events run safely and smoothly.

These experiences allow Explorers to develop communication, leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills while gaining a firsthand understanding of law enforcement operations and the importance of community partnerships.
